Testimonials and Baby Photo Gallery

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mom.  After trying to conceive for a total of 6 years, losing a baby at sixteen weeks, four failed IUIs and a failed IVF, I was mentally, emotionally, physically and financially exhausted.  Not just exhausted; that sounds like rest could heal my pain.  I was beaten down.
Anyone who has been in a similar situation can understand the heartache a woman and her partner feel when all of their friends and siblings seem to be moving on with their lives by becoming parents, but they can’t.After admitting that I needed a break and time to decide which path to follow, I decided that if we were going to attempt IVF again, I needed to get myself to a better place.  I had always thought I lead a healthy lifestyle - watching  calories, daily cardio and weight routines- but I seemed to be in a physical battle with myself.  After taking a closer look at what factors could affect fertility, I made three changes: an all-natural diet, yoga only (no more beating myself up) five times/week, and acupuncture.  This is when I first met Jeanette.  After my first consultation, Jeanette recommended two more changes: Chinese herbs and daily meditation.  I don’t even know how to explain what a critical part of my life Jeanette was during my “year of rejuvenation” and after.  She was so much more than my acupuncturist.  She was a nutritionist, health coach, biggest supporter and friend.  I truly felt that she believed I would become pregnant, and she knew one of her main goals was to convince me!  I saw Jeanette anywhere from two times/week to two times/month during that year.  Jeanette’s gentle, compassionate and grounded way of working with her patients is one of her greatest gifts.   I felt orders of magnitude better spiritually, emotionally and physically within three months.

When we decided to try IVF again, my AMH level had quadrupled and was therefor consistent with “normal”  34-year-old women, not one with "diminished reserve" as I had been labeled the previous year.  I was ecstatic.  Jeanette treated me many times during the weeks leading up to retrieval and embryo transfer.  Although we had fewer eggs than the first time, we had beautiful high-grade embryos.  We transferred two and they both implanted!  We couldn’t believe it when the doctor said we were expecting twins!  Throughout my pregnancy Jeanette treated me for extreme all-day sickness and overall prenatal health to ensure that I could sustain the pregnancy as long as possible and deliver naturally.  It worked! The doctors induced me at 36w5d and I delivered two beautiful, healthy baby boys (5lbs13oz, 6lbs6oz)at 37w.  My dream had finally become a reality.

As expected, I had little time for caring for myself during that first year of my boys’ life; however Jeanette’s advice (through email and occasional appointments) kept me healthy and helped me develop a strong milk supply in order to successfully nurse two babies for over a year.

I can’t thank Jeanette enough for all she has done for me and my family.  I am forever grateful for her support on my journey to motherhood.

Fondy and with utmost appreciation,

-Jessica Lemieux

I started with Jeanette a few months before I got pregnant. I had been to acupuncture for other reasons, so I was looking for a fertility/pregnancy specialist. I met Jeanette and was immediately comfortable and happy with her. Within 2-3 months of working with Jeanette, I was pregnant. I loved her calmness, knowledge and approach to getting pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy, Jeanette helped with my nausea which I had from 6 to 16 weeks. She also gave me Chinese medicines, herbal recommendations for the health of my baby and me, and I was never sick the entire pregnancy. Speaking with other friends who were seeing different acupuncturist, none of them were receiving this depth of comprehensive treatment which included using Chinese medicines and herbs, advice on diet and exercises, and acupressure points to prepare for labor. She educated me as to what my body was going through which gave me confidence through the pregnancy, birth and after birth.
I was with Jeanette until Hartley was born. When the baby was late, Jeanette was instrumental in helping me talk through an emotional time that brought me closer to my unborn baby. She encouraged me to open up and speak with him. It was a breakthrough and Jeanette was so comforting, loving and supportive. To this day, it will remain one of the most amazing moments I had with my baby before his arrival. I had a beautiful birth, easy labor and delivery. I pushed for 10 minutes and this was my first baby. I owe ALL of this to Jeanette. She was the first person I called when my baby arrived. I wish she had been there for his arrival but I loved sharing with her with our story. Her guidance and reassurance through the pregnancy and birth were invaluable in preparing me for motherhood. I continue to see Jeanette for post natal and preparation for another baby.

-A very blessed and happy mother

When my husband and I began trying to have a baby, we soon found out that I had Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. We were told there was little chance of getting pregnant on our own because I wasn't ovulating. Therefore, we decided to try the fertility treatments recommended by my doctor right away. Since we were anxious to have a baby, we wanted to try everything we could. However, nothing seemed to be working and I was beginning to think our situation was hopeless. We tried many different rounds of fertility medicine and multiple IUIs. Each time, we would get our hopes up so high, only to be disappointed.

Finally, after over a year of trying to get pregnant, a friend recommended I see Jeanette.  I was skeptical at first and didn't think it was the right path for me. However, I am so glad I decided to take a leap of faith and make that first appointment with Jeanette. She was extremely knowledgeable and supportive throughout our sessions and I was beginning to feel like there actually was hope for us.

To our surprise and elation, I got pregnant extremely quickly after first seeing Jeanette. While that pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage, Jeanette still made me confident we would get pregnant again and have a healthy baby.

Throughout the next year, we continued with multiple fertility treatments in conjunction with acupuncture. Jeanette was very helpful in explaining the procedures and what we should expect throughout the process. After a few procedures, my husband and I decided we would take some time from traditional medicine and I would stick solely to acupuncture. After all, the medical procedures were extremely stressful and time consuming and they hadn't even worked yet! Meanwhile, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every appointment with Jeanette and found it incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. After a few months, my husband and I ended up getting pregnant without the help of fertility treatment. I give Jeanette (and my husband of course!) all the credit in the world for my getting pregnant! Of course I was nervous about this pregnancy following my previous miscarriage, but Jeanette was very supportive during those early weeks and beyond.

I ended up having an extremely easy and enjoyable pregnancy. I continued to see Jeanette on a regular basis and never had morning sickness, swelling, etc. I also I felt like I was in control of my emotions throughout my entire pregnancy. I'm happy to report that I had a smooth delivery and our beautiful daughter, Olivia, was born on April 6, 2014. I'm extremely grateful for Jeanette and would recommend her to anyone!

In terms of style, Jeanette has a gentle and supportive approach to her acupuncture practice. Her approach demonstrates a marked change from the traditional health-care style many of us are accustomed to. At monthly visits, she works on bringing balance and clarity into to my entire being; taking an overall mind-body approach and looking at the overall picture of my health; the emotional as well as the physical.  Because of these reasons, Acupuncture will always be a part of my health-care picture.

I began seeing Jeanette for fertility issue and my reproductive health and this was included in each of her assessments. After dealing with a miscarriage and unexplained infertility, I finally felt in charge of my body.  Essentially, Jeanette was able to put me back on track and give me the confidence I needed. Intrinsically, after only a few visits, I knew if I wanted to have a baby, I would most certainly get my baby! I felt invigorated and empowered.

Over the course of the following year I continued to work with Jeanette and also moved into fertility treatments. I experienced five failed IUI’s (inter-uterine inseminations) and in June of 2010 we decided to take the next step with IVF (in-vitro fertilization).   Although I was working with a Dr. specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology, Jeanette was the one who guided me through each and every step of this daunting process. She was an amazing support and I knew the acupuncture treatments were preparing my body to accept our baby.  After only two rounds of IVF cycles, my body was responding perfectly! On August 16, 2010, 14 eggs were retrieved!  The nurse was very surprised.  Based on my age (39), she explained: “We were hoping to see at least 5 eggs, but your retrieval of 14 eggs is typically reserved for women in their late 20’s, certainly not an almost 40 year old!”    After in vitro fertilization process, we ended up with seven high quality embryos, two of which were transferred into my uterus four days after the retrieval and at that point, I was pregnant!  Ten days after the embryo transfer, a blood test confirmed, I was definitely pregnant!

Although there were many challenges in terms of dealing with infertility, I am very happy to say my pregnancy was very uncomplicated!  Jeanette worked with me through each and every stage of my pregnancy; I had no morning sickness and no swollen legs or feet! Thanks to my continued acupuncture care (other than having heartburn) the overall pregnancy was actually enjoyable. And after simmering for 41 weeks and 2 days, Brooks finally made his appearance at 5:16pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.

At the age of 34 my partner and I were ready to start a family. However, after seven unsuccessful IUI attempts and one failed IVF, I was afraid I was destined to not have a biological child. However, a friend of mine suggested I give Jeannette a call and see if she thought she could help. She was warm and gracious on the phone, and we began working together biweekly as I prepared to undergo my final attempt at IVF. Although I was doubtful I could conceive, Jeannette was positive we could make it happen!

Two months after we began working together, I found out I was pregnant with twins. My happiness was somewhat overshadowed by an unknown, extremely painful condition at the beginning of my pregnancy. We were concerned I was going to lose the twins and Jeannette worked hard to provide the most stable, “quiet” environment she could for them to thrive in while we figured out what was causing the pain. At seven weeks pregnancy the doctors discovered my ovary was necrotic and I was rushed into emergency surgery to remove the ovary. There was still a good chance I could miscarry that early in my pregnancy, but I knew I was giving my babies the best chance for survival by receiving acupuncture and taking herbs three times a day.

The second trimester went very smoothly and my babies decided to make an early entrance at 33 weeks. They were beautiful and healthy, but just a wee bit too tiny to take home immediately. Today the girls are two years old and thriving. There is no doubt in my mind that the acupuncture and emotional support I received from Jeannette is the main reason the twins are here and thriving today!

Jeanette Moy was a lifesaver during my high-risk pregnancy.

When I was five-weeks pregnant I was diagnosed with subchorionic hematoma in my uterus, which caused five hemorrhages, each of them followed by days or even weeks of bleeding. I was told that there was no treatment for my condition and the only thing I could do is to “wait and see.” Every time I went to the emergency room I received a discharge note that said “threatened abortion.” The stress I felt during that time was unbearable.

This is when I started reading about acupuncture and when I found Jeanette. When I first spoke with her on the phone, she told me that she had never dealt with such a difficult case as mine. I still wanted to try her treatments because I had no other options and I wanted to make sure that I did everything to save my pregnancy. I started seeing her in January 2010 and continued to see her weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) for six months till my delivery. I always felt very comfortable, safe, and relaxed in her office. Jeanette is not only very professional and knowledgeable but she is also very compassionate and dedicated.

Jeanette’s acupuncture treatments and her personalized herbal supplements greatly relieved my stress, my sciatica pain, and my insomnia. I also believe that her acupuncture helped my subchorionic hematoma to reabsorb and that it helped my uterus to grow and stay healthy. I am happy to write that recently, despite so many hardships and complications during my pregnancy, I delivered a healthy baby boy. Thank you, Jeanette! I am extremely grateful to Jeanette for her patience, compassion, and support. I will never forget what she did for me and I greatly recommend her acupuncture treatments to everyone.

My husband and I decided to have a baby at age 37. I had had irregular menstrual cycles since I was a teenager, so I wasn't sure how easily I would get pregnant. When I expressed my desire to get pregnant, my gynecologist abruptly declared, "Well, you're probably not ovulating" and immediately referred me to a fertility clinic. After a good, long cry, I told my husband that there would be no trips to a fertility clinic. I just didn't feel that it was the right path for us. I was certain that not only would it not produce the results we wanted—a baby!—but it would definitely not address emotions, lifestyle, and the many complexities that fertility brings with it. I had heard horror stories from friends and others, and I wasn't read to hear that I had "old eggs" or some other horrific declaration from the medical community. I wasn't really sure why, but I thought acupuncture was the direction in which I wanted to move.

I found Jeanette in a moment of synchronicity in July 2007, not even knowing that she specialized in fertility issues. From the moment I began seeing her, Jeanette's ability to assess my emotional, physical, and even spiritual states and address them accordingly was astounding. Her approach was kind, compassionate, and firm, and she helped me believe in my own fertility, which I knew was every bit important as any physical condition that might (or might not!) be present. I remember her distinctly telling me, "I don't need you to think positively. I need you to believe that you are going to get pregnant." It became my daily instruction and mantra.

Through a combination of acupuncture, herbs, and charting my cycles, I began to know my own body, and I began to see results. The time between my first two cycles was 76 days, then 43 for the next. I think the next would have been a normal 30 or so, but I didn't have the chance to find out, because I was pregnant by mid-December! I'm pretty sure Jeanette knew I was pregnant before I did.

I had a wonderful pregnancy! I received acupuncture and took herbs all throughout my pregnancy to manage nausea and edema and keep my hormones balanced. I glowed, and everyone commented on how wonderful I looked. Who doesn't like to hear that?

Finally on September 12, 2008, our little angel, Delaney Amelia, was born at a healthy, robust 10 pounds! Jeanette was such a vital part of making that happen. When I talk to people about it, sometimes I joke that Jeanette got me pregnant. Okay, not exactly the truth, but next to my husband and me, she was the single most force that helped make our dream come true. I will be forever grateful to Jeanette for her compassion, knowledge, and friendship during this time.

Working withJeanette helped me to have a smooth pregnancy and delivery. Acupuncture and herbs helped me with everything from morning sickness to preparing my body for labor. Acupuncture relieved my lower back aches and pains and helped to balance some of the turbulent pregnancy hormones. I would recommend acupuncture, herbs and exercise for anyone who is pregnant or post-partum. I had a wonderful pregnancy experience and a healthy baby girl. I'm glad that my pregnancy was a special time and that I took the extra steps to put myself and my baby's health first. Thanks Jeanette!

Having used acupuncture as my primary health care for most of my adult life, I sought out Jeanette for maintenance of my overall health and for support through conception,  pregnancy, and delivery of my first child.  I consider the care I received from her to be the most important and necessary of all care I received during my pregnancy.  Not only did her acupuncture and herbal treatments greatly ease the nausea and fatigue I felt my first trimester, but her care helped me feel physically comfortable and energetic throughout my second and third trimesters.  Her experienced, insightful, and intuitive treatments relieved classic pregnancy symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion, back pain, and sleeplessness—all while concurrently addressing the ongoing hormonal and emotional shifts of pregnancy.  Additionally, while planning a home birth, Jeannette worked co-operatively with my midwife to anticipate how acupuncture could help facilitate a natural birth at home.  Jeanette provided acupuncture treatments when I was 10 days past my “due date” to support my body into labor.  I delivered a healthy, beautiful baby boy at home.  Jeanette’s postpartum treatments and herbs supported my postpartum recovery and have continued to help my body obtain hormonal balance.  I recommend her unconditionally!

-Another happy mother

I had been seeing Jeanette for several years for other complaints, mostly for a skin condition called rosacea. When I told her my husband and I were trying to conceive, she gave me fertility enhancing herbs and acupuncture treatments. I was 33 at the time, and had never been pregnant, so I wasn't sure how long it would take to conceive.

Four months later, I discovered I was pregnant! Jeanette's treatments were excellent for my nausea and anxiety over a possible miscarriage during the first trimester, and later for my overall energy level and preparation for childbirth. I loved every moment of pregnancy, even as I looked forward to meeting my child on his birth day.

Our beautiful and vibrant son was born in January, full of life energy. He is an alert and happy boy, and I am convinced it was Jeanette's acupuncture treatments that helped keep us both healthy throughout the pregnancy. Thanks, Jeanette!

"I am not sure how I first heard about the success of acupuncture for infertility, but everything I read seemed to end with positive results.  So, after 3 years of attempting to get pregnant - riding the roller coaster ride of pills, IUI procedures & surgery – and having no success, I was willing to try just about anything.  I felt like my biological clock was ticking and decided the best course of action for me was to combine both Eastern Medicine (acupuncture) and stronger Western medicine (in the form of daily shots with the IUI procedure).

When I started seeing Jeanette, I mentioned 3 problem areas I wanted to correct. First was a lack of energy & motivation that had plagued me for years.  I had long since given up on getting it back, attributing the change to age. Second, painful menstrual cramps on day 1-2 (not caused by endometriosis) that no amount of Advil could help. And Third – the infertility issue.

From the first meeting with Jeanette, I knew something was going to be different. She began by asking questions that were so “right on the mark”, unlike anything any doctor had ever asked.  It was as if she knew exactly what was going on with me physically.  I left that first meeting thinking, “finally someone who understands”.

I began twice weekly sessions with Jeanette in late April of 2005.  Soon my energy level and motivation started to come back.  I started to recognize the old me from my college days!  By June, two Advil were able to handle my menstrual cramps.  Not 2 every 4-6 hours, but 2 period the day of my cramps and that’s all!  I was jumping for joy and actually excited to see what the next month would bring.

We continued with twice weekly appointments right up until my first IUI procedure in late July.  We then cut back to once a week and “waited” for the results.  The IUI procedure was not successful but 1 Advil on the day of my cramps was all I needed!  It was “two down and one to go”.  I was sure by the next months cycle I wouldn’t need any Advil at all, and I didn’t.  The second IUI procedure was successful and I was pregnant!! Only 4 months after I started seeing Jeanette!

I continued seeing Jeanette throughout my pregnancy with weekly appointments in the first trimester.  We cut back to once every third week in the second & third trimesters, & then back to weekly for my last month. Aside from a little nausea in the beginning, my pregnancy was a breeze.  I never had any aches and pains, swelling or that desire toward the end to “get this kid out of me”.  I felt great and people said I looked great.  I am so sure the acupuncture made all the difference, not only in getting pregnant but also in the quality of my pregnancy.  I would (and have) recommended acupuncture to anyone having trouble getting pregnant.  Next time around I’m going to try just the acupuncture.  Thank you Jeanette, and I’ll be back!"

"I initially started acupuncture for chronic headaches and intestinal problems. Through acupuncture and use of Chinese herbs, I went from daily headaches to having one only once in a great while. I also learned to change my diet which helped my intestinal issues.

While I was undergoing treatment, I learned Jeanette specialized in fertility issues. My husband and I spent almost four years trying to conceive, including one IVF cycle without any success. We decided to try IVF one more time. I was treated by Jeanette prior to starting the medication regime and continued through the waiting period following embryo transfer. I had a significantly improved cycle as compared to the first and we finally got good news.

I continued my acupuncture treatments weekly through the first trimester and then biweekly until I gave birth to a beautiful healthy girl. Throughout my pregnancy I felt great, had no morning sickness, and was able to exercise the entire time. I am convinced that acupuncture made this pregnancy possible.

Jeanette was so supportive through the process of undergoing IVF. Acupuncture was also a stress relief and helped to regulate my mood. I cannot say enough positive things about acupuncture and the care I received from Jeanette. If we decide to have another child, I would start acupuncture again."

-a happy mother

"I had my first child, Emmaline Gabrielle, when I was 39 years old. It was a difficult pregnancy; in that I felt nauseous all day, every day for the entire 9 months and Emmaline was breech the entire pregnancy as well. I knew I wanted to have a second child, but I wasn't relishing the prospect of being nauseous again, so I decided to seek out an acupuncturist to prepare for this pregnancy.

I saw Jeanette Moy every week for 3 months before we even tried to conceive our second child. And then when we did conceive, I continued to see her once a week for the entire first trimester. I felt great; this pregnancy felt completely different.

We took a hiatus from acupuncture during the second trimester, per Jeanette's counsel and then returned to our once a week sessions during my third trimester. It was a completely different experience: no nausea, no breech presentation, no complications; I went into labor naturally two days before my official due date and delivered my second child, Giles Leie at 43 feeling wonderful and blessed. I couldn't be happier that I worked with Jeanette; I highly recommendher to everyone!"
